About Us:

Our client, a family-run Nursery setting in Wythenshawe, is currently looking for an experienced and passionate Head of Department (Room Leader) to lead in their Under 2s provision. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious early years professional who has a genuine passion for working with babies and toddlers and is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey. As Head of Department, you will play a key role in shaping a warm, nurturing and curiosity-led environment where our youngest children can explore, discover and thrive. You will be someone with vision, creativity and a strong understanding of child development who can inspire a team and contribute to the nursery’s continued journey of excellence. You will be supported by an experienced and passionate Senior Leadership Team who are committed to developing future leaders. Whether you are already leading a room or are looking to further develop your leadership skills, this role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact whilst growing professionally within a supportive and forward-thinking setting.

About You:

  • Proven experience working within an Under 2s room.
  • A Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, attachment and care routines for babies and toddlers.
  • Experience supporting, mentoring or leading colleagues.
  • A reflective practitioner with high expectations for children's learning and wellbeing.
  • Someone who is passionate about creating engaging, nurturing and curiosity-driven experiences for young children.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-building skills with families and colleagues.
