We’re looking for a motivated and ambitious Solicitor (NQ–2 PQE) to join our Marine team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in litigation or transactional work to develop a specialist career in marine law within a supportive and forward-thinking team.

As a Solicitor in our Marine team, you’ll support a wide range of matters spanning both transactional and contentious work. From assisting with vessel sales and financing arrangements to supporting disputes in the Admiralty Court and arbitration, you’ll gain exposure to high-quality and often international work.

You’ll work closely with experienced colleagues, developing your technical skills while gradually taking on more responsibility.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Assisting with a varied caseload of marine transactional and contentious matters.
  • Supporting the drafting of legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Conducting legal research and contributing to client advice.
  • Supporting matters involving vessel sale and purchase, financing, charter agreements, and disputes.
  • Attending client meetings and supporting fee earners on complex matters.
  • Responding to new client enquiries and supporting internal referrals.
  • Contributing to business development and marketing activities.
  • Building strong working relationships across the team and wider firm.
  • Keeping up to date with legal developments and industry trends.
  • Ensuring compliance with firm-wide procedures and regulatory requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Solicitor (NQ–2 PQE) with experience in litigation, commercial, or transactional work.
  • Previous marine law experience isn't required.
  • Interest in developing a career in marine law.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Good drafting and communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Analytical and proactive, with a willingness to learn.
  • A team player with a positive and enthusiastic approach.
  • Commercial awareness and interest in client development.
  • Strong IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
