We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Revenue Controller to join our Finance team in Bournemouth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational and communication skills to play a key role in supporting the firm’s billing and credit control processes within a professional and collaborative environment.

About the Role

As a Revenue Controller, you’ll support the day-to-day billing and credit control activities across the firm. Working closely with fee earners and the wider Finance team, you’ll help ensure bills are processed accurately and efficiently, while maintaining excellent client service and supporting effective debt recovery processes. This is a varied role suited to someone who is organised, conscientious, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Preparing client bills using the firm’s finance system.
  • Liaising with fee earners and support teams to finalise draft bills.
  • Processing bill amendments, credit notes, and WIP write-offs in line with firm policy.
  • Emailing bills and supporting the smooth completion of billing processes.
  • Assisting with credit control tasks and debt recovery activities.
  • Providing copy bills, statements, and account information to clients as required.
  • Chasing outstanding payments by telephone, email, and letter.
  • Taking card payments over the phone.
  • Supporting fee earners with client account queries and aged debt reviews.
  • Assisting with the management of aged WIP and debtor reports.
  • Supporting the wider Finance team with additional administrative tasks where required.

What We’re Looking For:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Previous accounts or finance experience (preferred).
  • Experience within a professional services or legal environment (desirable).
  • Strong numerical and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A professional and confident telephone manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A flexible, proactive, and team-focused approach.
  • High levels of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
