Most medicines are licensed at the same doses for everyone. Many patients may need less. Many stop because of side effects or cost before they find out.
Less is More finds the lowest dose that keeps working for each patient and adjusts it over time.
Software does the legwork; a doctor approves every dose change.
We start with GLP-1 weight-loss medicines and will extend the approach to other medicines.
Low-dose and personalised use is mostly off-label and the evidence is early.
In our first year we will run the service ourselves and follow around 150 patients to build that evidence safely.
The role
- write and sign the dosing rules, including when to step up, step down, switch medicine or refer
- prescribe and set standards for consent and records in off-label prescribing
- lead the first-year evaluation and its report on weight held, dose reached, side effects and cost
- work with our regulatory adviser on medical device, GMC, CQC, GPh C and MHRA requirements
- shape the commercial model, win partners and help raise money, without overclaiming
- What you must have
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise. You practise in the UK now.
- Current GLP-1 prescribing, including personalised or below-licensed doses, with your reasoning recorded.
- A real interest in microdosing and personalised dosing across all medicines, not only GLP-1s.
- A clear view of when off-label prescribing is right under GMC guidance. You can defend it to a regulator.
- The wish to be an entrepreneur. You want to lead a startup commercially as well as clinically: setting priorities, selling the idea and owning the results.
- Comfort with equity before salary and decisions made on incomplete information.
- What would help
- Experience in obesity medicine or online prescribing
- Experience in a health startup or with investors
