An exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor has arisen within a local company who provides services such as Utility Surveying, Hedge Cutting, Fencing and Drainage to the farming industry now require a Health and Safety Advisor to join their team.
Health and Safety Advisor - Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with reviewing and updating the Companies’ Health & Safety Management System including policies and procedures.
- Review risk assessments for all operations, offices and sites to regulatory and internal standards.
- Provide leadership and direction to the management teams; and produce guidance to the company on complying with both statutory and non-statutory requirements.
- Work with operational teams to ensure that our SHEQ system is considered at all stages of the operation.
- Support the investigating of incidents and accidents where required and produce detailed factual reports identifying root causes and recommendations for prevention.
- Manage x1 Direct report
Health and Safety Advisor - Requirements for role:
The ideal candidate will come from the Construction, Agriculture, Waste Management or Utilities as a Health and Safety Advisor. You will also have the following skills, qualifications and experience:
- Ideally hold a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Equivalent
- Member of IOSH
- Must have a full UK Drivers Licence
- Due to the nature of the role, you must be adaptable and pragmatic in your approach to health and safety
- Previous industry experience as a Health & Safety professional, including auditing, risk assessments, COSHH management, and incident investigation
- Practical experience/ understanding on operations in agriculture, construction and utilities
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 and HSG65 frameworks
- Strong understanding of UK HSE legislation and management systems.
- Strong IT skills to support implementing digital compliance management system
Desirable Qualifications:
- Auditing experience
- Understanding operational training requirements
- Previous experience of working in a highly regulated environment
