Maintenance Team Leader — Maintenance Team
We are looking for a highly motivated Maintenance Team Leader to join our Maintenance Team at Leprino. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will take ownership of the shift performance, ensuring that all KPIs and standards are met while minimising downtime.
Core Responsibilities:
- Engage, develop and support Engineers, setting clear standards, objectives and expectations.
- Allocate work, manage staffing levels and ensure that attendance, grievance and disciplinary matters are handled according to company policies and procedures.
- Provide regular coaching, guidance and advice on day‑to‑day team issues and problems.
- Conduct well‑structured Daily Management Systems (DMS) meetings.
- Monitor all process control points and maintain timely, accurate records.
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance uptime, rate and capacity.
- Proactively support safety, environmental and quality initiatives on the site.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Previous leadership experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing experience, preferably within the dairy sector.
- Strong people‑management and development skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities, with the capacity to prioritise effectively and work under pressure.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office packages.
- Accredited training qualification, e.g. IOSH, LEAN, ILM Level 3.
Qualifications:
- Qualified in either a Mechanical or Electrical discipline, with detailed knowledge of manufacturing equipment and its repair.
- Solid understanding of Health and Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement principles.
- Passion for engaging, developing and supporting a team.
This role operates on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (6am to 6pm on a day shift pattern only). A degree of flexibility outside core hours may be required.
