Leonid Group have exclusively partnered with a Top 10 firm in the search for an R&D Tax Consultant. This is an opportunity to manage a large portfolio of clients and play a huge role in the further development of the Innovation Incentives team. You'll have the scope to shape your own progression within the firm and take on more responsibility, including the chance to expand into wider Corporate Tax, or Incentive products (CA, LRR, PB etc). The role offers hybrid working, based from our client's Glasgow office.
Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Glasgow R&D Manager to successfully manage the client portfolio.
- Joining client meetings to discuss the R&D landscape, the legislation, and both their qualifying costs and technical projects.
- Working closely with clients to determine qualifying expenditure.
- Preparation of technical descriptions of the clientβs projects to accurately and robustly present qualifying activity to HMRC.
- Preparing submission reports and Additional Information Forms (AIFs).
- Assisting with marketing and business development activities, as required.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in preparing R&D tax credit claims, including both the technical and financial elements.
- Degree qualified.
- The ability to adapt for different clients (including different sizes, sectors, requirements) and provide a tailored approach to meet the specific needs.
- Relevant professional qualification, for example CA, ACA and/or CTA beneficial but not essential. We can support your professional qualification if that is something you are interested in.
- Proven experience in client handling and managing a busy portfolio.
- Excellent communication skills in a range of situations, both written and oral.
- Good client facing skills, and comfortable engaging in regular Teams meetings and phone calls.
- Well organised, with ability to manage and prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines are met.
