Exceptions above the standard range are managed through governance controls to protect internal equity.
At Leonardo we believe that strong financial foundations drive bold innovation. We are a dynamic, forward-thinking organization committed to excellence, integrity, and sustainable growth. At our Yeovil site we are looking for a Governance & Control Financial Accountant to join our team and act as the key finance representative for Quality Systems reviews, internal audit activities and Law 262 compliance.

- Serve as the primary Finance contact for Internal Audit activities, investigations and reviews.
- Coordinate the collection, validation and review of information required for External Financial Audits.
- Support the interpretation and application of accounting standards, Group accounting policies and financial governance requirements to ensure the accurate presentation of financial information.
- Support the preparation of the UK Statutory Accounts for the Helicopter Division, coordinating the collection, validation and review of information required by the UK Central Finance team.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of financial controls, identifying control weaknesses, process risks and opportunities for improvement, and supporting the implementation of corrective actions where required.
What you’ll bring:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial governance principles. (Part Qualified accountant will be considered if close to qualification)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks, evaluate controls and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and proactively drive activities to completion.
- Experience of financial controls, governance, compliance, audit or statutory reporting activities within a finance environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear reports, documentation and recommendations for a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong systems aptitude with experience of ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Interest in process improvement, finance transformation and emerging technologies, including automation and AI applications within finance.
This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.
