Job Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to support the ingestion, transformation, validation, and delivery of data across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Manage and optimise enterprise data environments, including cloud‑based data warehouses and data lakes such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, and Azure Synapse, ensuring high levels of scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Science, Business Intelligence, and Engineering teams to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and aligned to business objectives.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to gather reporting and analytics requirements, translating business needs into effective and sustainable data solutions.
  • Automate data integration, orchestration, and monitoring workflows using modern tools and frameworks including Python, Dagster, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Support the development and optimisation of dashboards and reporting solutions across platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, and Looker, helping to ensure semantic consistency and trusted reporting outputs.
  • Maintain high‑quality documentation and governance standards to ensure traceability, reproducibility, and compliance across data assets, pipelines, and processes.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve data architecture, operational efficiency, and engineering best practices across the wider data ecosystem.

What You'll Bring

  • Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of SQL, ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and modern data platforms. Experience with Python, Dagster, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL is essential; familiarity with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark) is advantageous.
  • Analytical thinking: Ability to interpret complex datasets and support the development of meaningful, insight‑driven BI solutions.
  • Problem solving: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex data integration and data quality challenges.
  • Communication: Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language.
  • Attention to detail: High level of accuracy in validating data and ensuring integrity across systems.
  • Documentation & governance: Commitment to maintaining clear, structured documentation to support traceability and best practice.
  • Experience in data engineering, data management, or a related field, with hands‑on expertise in data integration and pipeline development.
  • Certifications (desirable): Industry‑recognised certifications such as Microsoft Certified Data Engineer Associate or equivalent.
