You will be part of a multi discipline engineering team involved in the back office technical support activities required to support our customers with the in-service support requirements of several products . You will have the opportunity to ensure our customers technical support needs of our products are fulfilled.
We will give you the environment to develop your existing technical skills across the support phases, helping us to deliver world leading, highly reliable and capable integrated sensor systems for our worldwide customer base. We are a diverse mix of Engineers who bring together a wealth of experience and expertise to collaborate, innovate and create.
What you will do as the Technical Support Engineer is:
- Back Office Technical Support to Tornado Sky Shadow Countermeasures, Radar Homing and Warning Receiver, LRMTS, TADITS, INCDU and Field Service Engineering community, in line with contractual requirements.
- Interact with a range of technical & non-technical project stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
- When required, provide off-site support to UK & Overseas Customer sites and Airforce Main Operating Bases.
- Support contractually submitted customer Defect Investigations, Problem Investigations and Query Answer requests.
- Raise and issue technical reports to support Engineering activities.
- Take ownership of Fast Jet Technical support tasks and provide metrics to project stakeholders.
- Key stakeholder in providing support to the Field Service Engineering community, both within the UK and Overseas.
- Actively support knowledge sharing and exploitation of best practice.
- This is a hands-on role where the Engineer is expected to undertake active participation in the resolution of complex problems, providing timely and accurate feedback to internal and external stakeholders.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for someone with experience working on complex electronic and electromechanical systems, with an Aerospace and Defence background, with a solid understanding of Tornado and/or test equipment support.
In this role you will be a technically minded person with a good understanding of the project lifecycle and familiar with working across all levels within an Integrated Project Team. In addition to this, you will have some exposure to the following:
- Knowledge of airborne Tornado EW Systems
- Knowledge and understanding of test equipment across the platform products
- Knowledge and understanding of Bus Analysers, Spectrum Analysers, RF Power Meters
- A working understanding of all levels of product support.
- Ability to make informed decisions based on obtaining information from the relevant technical sources.
- An excellent and confident communicator and presenter, with the ability to engage with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively manage own time, potentially across multiple activities.
