The Opportunity
From fast jets to thermal imaging of wildlife, from search and rescue helicopters to space exploration, Leonardo is on the forefront of modern technology and we now have an exciting opportunity for an SAP Applications Developer to join our team supporting enterprise applications across the company.
You’ll be helping us maintain our S/4 HANA 2021 system as we set our direction to mould the future of our systems to help us deliver our vision of the Digital Enterprise for now and beyond. The team is growing and with our flexible working ethos there’s a good balance of remote work and site based contact.
What You’ll Do As An SAP Applications Developer
- You will help us maintain the system to keep the engine running as efficiently as possible
- Liaise with the functional members of the team to develop systems that drive business innovation
- You’ll have the opportunity to help us increase our team processes as we evolve our agile approach to development
- Investigate and develop the next generation of applications through continual adoption and development of Fiori applications
- Follow good practices and procedures with documentation and due diligence and help change those processes to keep us improving in all areas
What We Need From You
You really must have
- Strong ABAP skills preferably with a knowledge of Object Oriented Development
- Good database development knowledge
- Development knowledge of at least two SAP Modules
- Enhancement of SAP via UserExit, BAdI, etc.
- Good problem solving skills
- Excellent communications skills and ability to work as a team
It would be nice if you had
- Experience of Core Data Services (CDS) and ABAP Development Tools in Eclipse
- Exposure to RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP)
- Some knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform
- ABAP automated test tooling ABAPunit, Test Doubles, etc.
- Jira, Confluence and Agile principles
- DEVOPS processes and CI/CD
- SAP Workflow and Flexible Workflow
- SAP Integration Tools such as SAP Process Integration or Process Orchestration
