As a Mission Systems Field Service Engineer at Leonardo UK, you will directly support the delivery, sustainment, and operational readiness of cutting‑edge communication and mission systems used across UK and international defence platforms. You will work closely with Engineering, Programmes, Customer Support and In‑Service Support teams, acting as the front‑line technical representative for Leonardo’s Mission Systems portfolio. This role is based from Basildon with regular travel to customer sites, MoD establishments, trials locations, and deployed environments.

Delivering cutting edge technology and direct support to the front line, our Field Service Engineers are so much more. The Mission Systems team are looking for a Support Engineer to join us in Basildon.

  • Support product development and in-service support
  • Design support solutions including key documentation
  • Provide field support at customer locations (UK and abroad)
  • Remotely support deployed units

Mission systems, including external and internal comms, secure voice and tactical networking:

  • IP networking and routing technology
  • Diagnostics tools and electronic test equipment
  • Technical documentation and report writing
  • Customer training

Field service engineering work would often be expected to be off-site, requiring travel. A full driving licence is required. Due to the nature of our team, a full medical would be required for potential deployment to military platforms. Advanced MS OFFICE skills are essential, including MS Word skills with advanced knowledge of styles and formatting, paragraph numbering, and creation of linked PDFs. Security Clearance is also necessary.
