Your Impact
Our Systems Engineering function is currently recruiting for Lead Obsolescence Engineer to oversee the Rotary Wing portfolio. You will be responsible for leading obsolescence management across Rotary Wing for Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) Line of Business (LoB). Your main responsibilities will include:
- Identify obsolescence risks and concerns related to the project
- Develop mitigation and resolution plans to address identified obsolescence risk
- Support the engagement with key stakeholders in order to establish obsolescence related risks and needs.
- Work with the support solution modelling team to evaluate both product and service designs from a sustainment perspective, performing trade-off studies and feeding results back in
- Conduct analysis of historic in-service data to identify areas for future improvement, as well as to inform projections and forecasts, presenting key findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders
- Produce obsolescence plans, processes and formal documentation as required
- Produce evidence to demonstrate compliance with supportability related requirements
- Foster relationships and networks within and outside CS3 and actively identify opportunities for adoption of best practice (in terms of processes, tools or ways of working)
- Participate in continuous improvement activities
- Escalate emerging issues and levels of risk and helping define opportunities and risk mitigation options
- Mentor, coach and develop more junior members of the team in order to develop overall capability
An in-depth understanding and relevant industry experience of applying Obsolescence Management engineering principles and standards across the engineering lifecycle
Knowledge of IEC62402 and its application
Experience of working with different stakeholders to elicit and trade-off competing needs to ensure that the optimum solution is created for through-life requirements
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders from a wide range of organisations, disciplines, backgrounds and levels of seniority
Self-motivated with an aptitude for problem solving and driving difficult issues to conclusion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience of creating formal documentation and presentations for internal and/or external customers
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with an ability to influence and adapt according to changing demands
