Your Impact
Are you ready to contribute to the continued airworthiness and lifecycle improvements of the international AW101 helicopter fleet?
As a Project Engineer at the Home of British Helicopters, you will work on technically varied and customer-focused projects. Reporting to the AW101 In-Service System Integrator, you\’ll be responsible for managing engineering aspects related to in-service technical issues and modifications across a global fleet.
This role requires flexibility, cross-functional collaboration, and strong problem-solving skills. You\’ll engage with stakeholders at all levels of the business and represent the company with external Customers.
Responsibilities will vary depending on your experience but may include
- Managing and coordinating multiple in-service technical issues and aircraft modifications, including associated budgets and schedules — ensuring timely delivery to internal and external customers.
- Understanding and interpreting contractual and certification requirements from in-service customers and certifying authorities.
- Leading or supporting Systems Engineering activities related to the air vehicle and its modifications — including requirements capture, design, qualification, certification, and customer acceptance.
- Acting as a key technical interface between internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Supporting the Chief Project Engineer on all matters related to safety and continued airworthiness.
What you\’ll bring
- Degree level qualification or HNC/HND/BTEC and Apprenticeship or equivalent in mechanical or aeronautical engineering or an allied discipline, with comprehensive working experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of aircraft systems, air vehicle operation, and operational usage.
- Knowledge of certification processes and rotorcraft-specific certification specifications.
- Familiarity with DOORS for requirements management and tracking (desirable).
- Solid understanding of helicopter engineering principles and technical procedures.
- Knowledge of aircraft airworthiness standards and safety protocols.
