A Chief Engineer / Systems Design Authority (SDA) is required to join the Mission Support Products Integrated Project Team (IPT), within the Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) Sector based out of the Luton office. The Mission Support Products IPT produces Software tools in support of all phases of the Electronic Warfare Operation Support (EWOS) lifecycle, to ensure the best performance is realised from the product portfolio developed across the business.
The Chief Engineer will ensure the governance and quality for the delivery of the current products, and lead the technical direction of the next generation of mission data architecture and services including training and test solutions. Leonardo pride themselves on the quality and capability of the products that we release to the marketplace, and the role they play for the UK and overseas military, and the EWOS toolsets are key to this.
We work closely with our End User community to ensure that our toolsets best meet their needs, whether that be design and trials proving, mission planning and programming, or post flight analysis. This role will see the successful candidate join the quickly expanding engineering team within the IMS sector and take on a key role in shaping the future of Mission Support Products, using the latest technologies and ensuring that they meet the future needs of the customer.
The Project Chief Engineer will need to:
- Be delegated by the business as the Design Authority & Company Technical Signatory for the required products.
- Represent, supported by Subject Matter Experts, the company when engaging with customers to define the technical solution.
- Ensure independent product assurance through Design Reviews and ensuring company procedures are adhered to.
- Be responsible for delivered product design, compliance, safety and integrity.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplined project team in close partnership with key stakeholders.
