We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive, inquisitive, technical manager to join the team in Product Investigation. In this multi-faceted role at Leonardo Helicopters, you will lead a dedicated team to coordinate and solve problems within investigation activities – ensuring a focus on schedule, cost and quality. You will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Product/Failure Review Board (FRB), which aims to provide a governance structure or gated process, to manage unscheduled maintenance development and in-service investigation.
You might not have experience in all of the below, but the most important skill is to be committed to learn about this business, role and stakeholders and a readiness to share your ideas – this is a management role you can make your own and we want to hear from you.
The position is a level 7 on the Job Family Framework (JFF).
What You Will Do As a Product Investigation Manager
- Develop and shape the skills of your team, encouraging collaboration with other senior leaders and colleagues
- Provide the business with appropriate resources to deliver bids, projects and products
- Support recruitment, on-boarding, performance management, career management and succession planning
- Provide guidance to meet company expectations for productivity, cost of ownership, quality, continuous improvement and accomplishment of objectives
- Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and the application of lessons learned across reliability functions
- Provide technical approval of all departmental reporting streams
- Support all aspects of the In-Service Product Improvement (ISPI), such as the UMD (Unscheduled Maintenance Development) Working Group, ISPI Committee meetings
- Revamp the Failure Review Board (FRB) governance to be aligned with the Company Process, which provides effective and structured reporting to seniors regarding on-going product investigations
- Foster a close working relationship with the Continuing Airworthiness department for managing SAN (Safety Arising Notice) and attend SAG (Safety Action Group) and ART (Airworthiness Review Team) meetings
- Drive cost of ownership reductions through targeted continuous improvement initiatives, backed by cost-benefit analysis
- Champion the deployment and enhancement of digital tools to support FRB/ISPI governance processes.

What You’ll Bring
- Industry Knowledge Experience in a defence-related aerospace environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Analytical Expertise Strong background in Root Cause Analysis and/or Accident Investigation.
- Leadership Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment in complex, fast-paced settings.
- Governance Experience in developing and implementing structured governance or gated processes.
- Education Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline and/or formally trained in support engineering principles.
