During your apprenticeship, you will split your time between the workplace and university, gaining both academic knowledge and hands-on experience. You will:

  • Commit to the successful completion of all your academic modules and assignments to achieve your Data Scientist Apprenticeship Standard (ST0585), which includes a BSc (Hons) Data Science.
  • Build your expertise in data science and software engineering by rotating through different areas of the business and contributing to our Integrated Project Teams.
  • Develop practical skills in designing, building, and maintaining software solutions, with a focus on data-driven systems and complex applications.
  • Gain a strong understanding of key software engineering principles, data science methodologies, and modern technologies used to process and analyse data.
  • Support early careers initiatives — with opportunities to act as a STEM ambassador, engaging with schools, colleges, and universities to inspire future talent.
Qualifications and Entry Criteria

This Apprenticeship assumes the candidate has little professional engineering experience and is NOT suitable for candidates who already have an engineering, software or computing degree. You must have as a minimum:

  • 120 UCAS Points to include Maths and at least 1 other STEM subject (3 B's at A' Level or equivalent qualification).
  • Plus 5 GCSE grades 9-4 / A* - C or equivalent, must include Maths, English and a Science.

During your Apprenticeship, we encourage you to spend at least 3/4 days a week on site to integrate with your team and maximise your learning experience.

Security Clearance

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
