Your impact Leonardo has an exciting opportunity for a 2nd line Maintenance Support Engineer based onsite at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire. You will hold a demanding role in supporting the availability of the UK Typhoon Aircraft Platform by helping to ensure the repair of Radar and Defensive Aids LRIs. You will be provided with full technical training and join a very professional and flexible team.

What You Will Do As The Support Engineer:

  • Ensure engineering design is best practice by following Company and Engineering life cycle processes.
  • Ad-hoc tasking from Bay Support Manager with agreement of Shop Floor Supervisor.
  • Ensuring the completion of delegated engineering tasks within the team.
  • Design engineering solutions considering all requirements such as product quality, safety, reliability and testability.
  • Support activities in line with the Job Family Framework as required.
  • Introduce/manage Ad-hoc tasks with minimal effect on JAS operations.
  • Mentor both new employees and current CMF personnel.
  • Proving 7 pillars Engineering aspect for new capability.
  • Responsible for looking for solutions to introduce new efficiencies within the workplace.
  • Ensuring all pre-use checks are carried out.
  • Ensuring all personnel are working in accordance with MRP145 approved data.
  • Supporting and providing cover for all contractor working activities.
  • Ensure all weekly back-ups are completed.
  • Completion of Test Equipment maintenance on both Radar and DASS TME.

What You’ll Bring:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering with experience supporting maintenance and repairs activities of avionic systems and capability of being able to lead a team of engineers within a multi-functional partnered working environment. You will be highly customer focused with excellent communication skills and able to work in a fast-moving environment with multiple parallel activities and capable of making priority decisions. Ability to obtain and hold delegated authority with an airworthiness environment. This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.

Security Clearance:

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) will apply, this will include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC).
