Overview

This programme is designed to develop graduates into leading technical or business professionals and provides opportunities to work on real-world projects from day one.

What you will do

  • Work on real-time projects alongside scientists and engineers within a globally renowned company.
  • Participate in all aspects of product development, from solution concept through to system integration.

Key responsibilities

  • Create high-quality, robust code, document and record work products, maintain configuration management, and provide plans and reports on progress.
  • Develop practical design skills for aerospace applications and collaborate with Software, Systems, Firmware, and Electronics Engineers to solve integration challenges.
  • There may be opportunities to influence software development methodologies at Leonardo.

What we need from you

  • A minimum of a 2:1 Bachelors/Integrated Master’s degree, or a higher degree (e.g., MSc or PhD) in relevant subjects such as Software Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or Electronic Engineering.
  • Highly desirable: experience of agile development; programming in an object-oriented language such as C++; Knowledge of UML (Unified Modelling Language).
  • Summer or industrial placement experience relevant to your degree.
  • A full statement of courses and projects studied at university with grades/marks should be included in your CV.

Security clearance

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of personnel security controls, National Security Vetting (NSV), may apply and could include eligibility for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
