Within the GCAP Joint Venture, in the GCAP Technical Leadership UO, we are looking for an IT Software Asset Specialist GCAP HQ in Reading (UK). The IT Software Asset Specialist plays a key role in supporting the effective management, optimisation, and governance of software assets across the organisation. Working closely with the IT Asset Manager, the role focuses on day‑to‑day operational execution of software asset management (SAM) processes, ensuring asset accuracy, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. This specialist contributes to strengthening organisational control of the software estate, enhancing value from technology investments, and maintaining a secure, compliant environment.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of software asset management processes and the associated asset inventory.
- Maintain compliance with organisational, regulatory, and security standards across all software assets, including those requiring SC clearance.
- Monitor and optimise software utilisation, identifying opportunities for rationalisation, cost optimisation, and improved lifecycle management.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement, innovation, and the enhancement of SAM tooling and reporting.
Qualifications Skills and Experience
- 2–5 years of experience working in software asset management.
- Hands‑on experience with ServiceNow, including SAM‑related modules or workflows.
