Future MES Product Owner – Leonardo

Responsibilities
- Develop or improve manufacturing processes to support a new Manufacturing Execution System by capturing and studying requirements.
- Research, design, modify, and test new manufacturing digital solutions.
- Identify Leonardo stakeholders and support stakeholder management.
- Understand feedback from Leonardo stakeholders.
- Conferring with vendors or external partners.
- Assess business benefits of new integrated digital environment for end‑users and identify KPIs to track adoption and benefits following introduction of the new tool.
- Provide input on design decisions for interfacing applications.
- Support development of detailed work plan to schedule, track, and forecast assigned work.
- Prioritise work packages identified within the Future MES project.
- Prepare content for technical reviews including technical steerco, design reviews, and change review boards.
- Validate new or enhanced feature/functionality test scripts.
- Develop materials to support stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with business SMEs to identify regression testing elements for new/enhanced feature/user acceptance testing.
- Create additional user acceptance test scripts/criteria for new/enhanced feature including ‘break’ tests.
- Serve as the project’s subject‑matter expert to validate testing and undertake show‑and‑tell activities.
Qualifications
- In‑depth understanding of manufacturing processes and principles.
- Effective change‑management skills.
- Detailed understanding of the operational framework and business processes.
- Understanding of cross‑functional/commercial business processes and their impact.
- Ability to take ownership of a work package; plan and schedule own workload and that of others.
- Operational understanding of project work and how the team’s work impacts other project activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of multiple phases of the Product Life Cycle and the associated processes.
- Experience of peer‑reviewing the work of others inside a product team.
- Knowledge of the risk/reward process associated with manufacturing activity informing the activities of a product team.
- Ability to communicate concepts in a non‑technical way.
- Confidence and ability to challenge/respond to technical/process issues.
- Strong stakeholder interaction skills.
- Experience in capability and/or process development, demonstrating an ability to implement a change to working practices.
- Relevant digital manufacturing engineering background for Future MES project.
