Your Impact
Join Leonardo as an Infrastructure Lead and take ownership of critical on‑premise infrastructure services across key operational sites. In this highly visible role, you will lead the delivery, resilience, security, and continuous improvement of core infrastructure platforms, working closely with internal stakeholders and third‑party technical teams to ensure operational excellence across complex and secure environments.
What you’ll be doing
- Act as the subject matter expert for all assigned on‑premise infrastructure services.
- Provide expert guidance on new site‑based requirements, ensuring accurate assessment and correct assignment.
- Use deep technical knowledge to identify risks, recommend improvements, and drive continuous optimisation.
- Ensure all on‑premise infrastructure is patched, compliant, and aligned with CE+ requirements.
- Manage on‑premise data centre facilities, resources, and supporting environments.
- Ensure site‑based infrastructure services perform to expected levels, providing specialist support where required.
- Support incidents, requests, major incidents, Sev0 events, and early‑life support for new solutions.
- Coordinate and oversee workload and demand for third‑party infrastructure teams.
- Support BCP testing, resilience exercises, and CE+ activities within scope.
- Represent Site Operations in change control and transition processes for hub‑hosted or impacted services.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation for all infrastructure, tooling, and software within scope.
- Oversee asset and resource allocation to ensure efficient use of the estate and adherence to governance controls.
- Liaise with hardware and system suppliers to ensure compliant, reliable, and supported solutions.
- Collaborate with Tech Ops demand managers to support project delivery and site‑based initiatives.
What you’ll bring
- Deep understanding of on‑premise infrastructure including storage, backup, networking, compute, and data centre environments.
- Hands‑on experience with virtual and physical server build, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Proficiency with Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows clustering, EPO, and client deployment technologies.
- Familiarity with VPN, email, web proxy, endpoint security, and related infrastructure tooling.
- Experience managing server and workstation imaging solutions.
- Working knowledge of cloud technologies such as Azure and AWS, and how they integrate with on‑premise environments.
- Understanding of best‑practice infrastructure governance, patching, and compliance frameworks (including CE+).
- ITIL 4 Foundation desirable.
- Experience leading technical teams and managing supplier or third‑party contracts.
- Proven ability to coordinate and motivate teams of technical specialists and subject matter experts.
- Strong capability to manage competing priorities and multiple concurrent projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example, inspire confidence, and drive high performance.
