The Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business, based in Edinburgh, is uniquely positioned as one of the world's top manufacturers of radars, lasers and infra-red countermeasure systems.

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join our Edinburgh Supply Chain (Procurement) function as a Supply Chain Buyer in our Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business. The successful candidate will report to the Supply Chain Team Leader for the specific sector.

What you’ll bring

  • The Supply Chain Buyer will be responsible and accountable for the acquisition of material from our external supply chain partners ensuring that supply meets our MRP demand.
  • The Supply Chain Buyer will use the defined Supply Chain reporting toolsets to manage and develop suppliers.
  • Manage portfolio of external supply chain partners & associated purchase orders.
  • Chairing regular reviews with suppliers.
  • Ensure material supply meets MRP demand.
  • Ensure timely issuance and submission of responses to standard SC toolset including.
  • Be accountable for the management of Supplier delivery performance throughout the Contract lifecycle in line with defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Identify risk and opportunity, working collaboratively with stakeholders to help define mitigation activities.
  • Maintain joint action plans.
  • Deploy the appropriate SAP activity in order to carry out your job effectively e.g. PO date maintenance.
  • Awareness of Trade / Export Compliance.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Ability to influence.
  • Effective and flexible communication skills.
  • IT literate (must have MS Office, Excel & SAP/MRP knowledge).

Security Clearance

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
