At Leonardo we are uniquely positioned to service our world leading radars, lasers and infra-red countermeasure systems. Leonardo in Edinburgh are recruiting for a Senior Quality Engineer within the Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) line of business.

As Senior Quality Engineer you will interact at Integrated Project Team (IPT) level, working in partnership with the Operations team / IPT.

What you’ll do as a Senior Quality Engineer:

  • Offer advice, support and assistance on all Quality Assurance / Quality Control matters.
  • Support Principal Quality Engineer in driving objectives to meet / exceed targets.
  • Support creation of Quality Plans defining quality assurance activities aligned to Risk, Opportunity and Improvement within the Programme and associated Projects, operating in line with the requirements of the Operational Framework.
  • Actively ensure Leonardo Production System goals for Quality KPIs.
  • Lead the Assurance function’s improvement plans across all phases of the Programme, Product and Project Lifecycle.
  • Mentor others in order to grow Quality excellence within the Programme/Projects.
  • Take leadership in ensuring concessions / production permits are processed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Support achievement of quality assurance milestones within the Programme, Product and Project lifecycle.

Further education and experience ideally in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly 'complex' industry. Some knowledge and practical experience of Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification and First Article Inspection.

Be a logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with practical solutions that supports business goals, in 'the language of the business'. Have demonstrated experience working in high precision manufacturing environment.
