Leonardo is seeking Digital Engineers at various levels to join our hardware engineering teams across the UK. Based in any of our eight offices, you will contribute to the development, manufacture and testing of cutting-edge radio frequency (RF) systems within a range of product lines, with a focus on defence technology.

What You’ll Do

  • Design high speed digital PCBs that utilise the latest FPGA, microprocessor and high-speed interconnect technologies.
  • Support the full hardware lifecycle from requirements analysis through design, unit testing, integration with the target system, and acceptance testing.
  • Fully document and record work products, keep them under configuration management, and provide plans and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with Systems, Mechanical and Software Engineers to develop sub-system digital electronic architectures that extend product range, capability and performance with minimal Size, Weight and Power (SWaP).
  • Develop new electronics through the full design lifecycle from concepting and technology maturation to prototyping, main product design, build, test and system integration, and delivery to the customer.
  • Analyse system-level requirements documents and apply them to hardware designs.
  • Visualise the wider system context alongside detailed digital architectures and solve complex technical challenges.
  • Develop digital electronics including digital/DSP, firmware, and mixed-signal work.

Qualifications

  • First or second degree (BSc, BEng, MEng, MSc, PhD, EngD) in Electrical Engineering.
