What you’ll do as a Material Control and Planning Apprentice
Looking for a great start to your career in manufacturing, earning and learning on a professionally accredited, award‑winning scheme?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Material Control and Planning Apprentice to support the manufacturing of our cutting‑edge products.
You will be working within a structured training scheme designed to provide you with all the knowledge and skills required to be able to plan and implement materials management in a fast‑paced, complex, manufacturing environment producing fantastic, world‑leading products.
- Production control placement
- Material supply placement
- Logistics placement
- Master production scheduling placement
- Procurement placement
You will experience how we manage the flow of material from initial planning of the requirement through to the shipping of the finished product and how we ensure the process is as efficient as possible.
You will be working within world‑class manufacturing environment and be supported in your development by our team of in‑house experts.
You will become part of a huge community of apprentices working in Leonardo, throughout the UK.
You will also attend a local College to complete your Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship (ST0070). Through your work placements you will record learning activities and evidence to show your competency in the set criteria to build a portfolio for assessment including an individual project.

What we need from you
You Must Have (as a Minimum) The Following Qualifications
- 2 A Levels (A*-C), one of which must be English, Maths or a Business‑related subject, or equivalent
- 5 GCSE grades 4–9 or grades A*-C or equivalent, including Maths and English
Security Clearance
This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, including the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
