We are looking for our next Fatigue Analyst Engineer to join our Leonardo UK, Helicopter division, where you’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with the fatigue and damage tolerance requirements as specified by the design criteria and airworthiness regulations. We cover the whole aircraft system across a range of helicopter, tilt-rotor and UAV platforms using both metallic and composite materials. Our flight test activities are conducted onsite, so providing support to our flight operations creates opportunities to work alongside the aircraft.

As part of the wider fatigue group, you will also have the chance to work on other civil and military product lines.
What you’ll do as a Fatigue Analyst Engineer
- Fatigue analysis of metallic and composite, dynamic and structural components and associated reports
- Development of test proposals & reports, support to component testing and analysis
- Development and review of aircraft usage spectra
- Development of in-service aircraft inspections and inspection criteria as related to fatigue
- Development of tools to improve the efficiency of analytical processes
- Produce certification data in accordance with customer, company and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with Project Engineering and Customer Support functions to address in-service technical queries and report progress on a range of initiatives and aircraft programmes
- Provide production and repair support to the manufacturing plants
What you’ll bring
- A degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent)
- Knowledge and/or proven experience of stress & fatigue analysis and the production of analytical reports
- Knowledge of Fatigue Analysis software
- Knowledge of FE software such as Abaqus, NASTRAN and Hypermesh
This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.
