At Leonardo, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Material Controller. The Integrated Sensing and Protection business in Southampton is uniquely positioned as one of the world's top manufacturers of Infra-Red detectors and communication systems. As a Material Controller you will control the flow of material within the Production environment in a timeframe that supports the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
What you will be doing as a Material Controller:
- Organising and issuing materials to the manufacturing area.
- Maintaining traceability of all production materials and finished goods.
- Organising the return to vendor of faulty or incorrect materials.
- Working with engineers to ensure build standard integrity is maintained.
- Generating and managing works orders for new build and repair activities.
- Ensuring material is available in line with the master production schedule.
- Generation of shipping documentation.
- Organising the processing of customer repairs.
- Control and reporting of Government furnished assets.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience of planning and controlling materials in a manufacturing environment is desirable although other comparable experience would be considered.
- Experience of SAP or similar manufacturing execution systems.

Security Clearance: This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
