Your impact

Are you interested in working on one of the most critical defence and aerospace projects in the UK? We're looking for someone who is experienced in Software Engineering, Agile and leading a team to join us in one of our key Software delivery teams on the Typhoon Radar. This role is to be the Scrum Master within an established agile delivery team where you'll work alongside the Product Owner as part of the team leadership, helping to grow, coach and nurture a high performing team. You'll report into the Release Train Engineer and help to ensure success across the wider Agile Release Train.

Within the engineering community at Leonardo, our mission is simple: "Deliver new features and enhancements quickly and continuously to keep our operators safe." That means we need to develop features, gather data, diagnose problems and deploy updates as quickly as possible. As a leader within the team, you'll understand the value you and the team deliver to our customers and how important that is to mission success.

What you’ll bring

We need someone who has experience in a similar role and can bring their knowledge and expertise into the team. We're ideally looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master in technical or engineering environments, ideally in aerospace, defence or high-tech environments. Other regulated industries such as Financial Services, Telcos, Pharma and Oil and Gas would also be a good fit.
  • Experience working in scaled environments, understanding how multiple Agile teams align and synchronise to deliver value.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent. Knowledge of or certifications in SAFe or other agile scaling frameworks is a plus.
  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills, with the ability to handle complicated, regulated environments.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledgeable of best practices for incremental development.
  • Experience of metric driven development.
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian toolset is a nice to have.

This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.

Security Clearance

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
