Your Impact
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Procurement and Commercial team as a Procurement Manager within Leonardo's GCAP sector, based in Edinburgh. In this leadership role, you will lead and develop a team of procurement professionals, delivering strategic value across the product lifecycle - from New Product Introduction (NPI) and early lifecycle development through to full-rate production. You will play a key role in shaping and strengthening our supply chain capability, driving supplier performance, negotiating and managing commercial agreements, and ensuring capacity and capability are aligned to support programme delivery. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will help deliver business objectives through effective procurement strategies, commercial excellence, and supply chain resilience. Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager (GCAP), you will be responsible for fostering a high-performing team while contributing to the successful execution of complex and strategically important programmes.
What you'll bring
- Lead, develop and motivate a team of procurement professionals to deliver operational and strategic procurement objectives.
- Develop and implement procurement and supply chain strategies that support programme and business requirements.
- Lead strategic sourcing activities and delivery plan.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure optimum performance, capability, quality, cost and delivery outcomes.
- Lead commercial negotiations and contract management activities throughout the product lifecycle.
- Drive supplier capacity and capability improvement initiatives to support programme growth and delivery commitments.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering, programme management, manufacturing, quality and commercial teams to achieve business objectives.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while promoting continuous improvement and resilience.
- Support organisational change initiatives and contribute to long-term strategic planning activities.
- Act as a trusted advisor and escalation point for complex procurement and commercial matters.
- Significant procurement, commercial or supply chain management experience within a complex manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proven leadership experience, including developing and managing high-performing teams.
- Experience within the Aerospace and Defence sector.
- Strong contract management and commercial negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), product development or early lifecycle programmes.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate at all organisational levels.
