Leonardo UK is seeking an Access Coordinator to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division team. This role is focused on delivering, maintaining, and improving platform and systems engineering solutions that underpin critical defence, government and public sector services.
What you will do as an Access Coordinator
- Provide day-to-day administrative support for access control processes, including pass and permit applications, renewals, and temporary access requests.
- Maintain accurate records of access permissions, training status, and compliance documentation using tools such as SharePoint, Excel, and internal databases.
- Support the Access Manager in ensuring all pass holders meet site-specific requirements and operate within approved procedures.
- Assist with the coordination of security interviews and work permit administration for business-as-usual and urgent escalations.
- Liaise with internal teams and external authorities to ensure timely resolution of access-related queries and issues.
- Monitor and report on access compliance, escalating risks or anomalies as appropriate.
- Process invoices and contribute to financial tracking related to access services.
- Contribute to service reviews and continuous improvement initiatives related to access and site coordination.
What you’ll bring
- A strong interest in operational support, compliance, or service coordination.
- Some experience (e.g. through internships, placements, or academic projects) in administrative or business support environments.
- Basic understanding of access control, compliance, or service management principles.
- Familiarity with collaboration and documentation tools such as SharePoint, Excel, or similar platforms.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and follow structured procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.

- Exposure to hybrid or secure environments (e.g. airside, seaport, defence).
- Awareness of ITIL, ISO 20000, or similar service frameworks.
- Experience handling personal data and understanding of GDPR.
- Interest in pursuing professional certification (e.g. ITIL Foundation, SIAM).
- UK or EU driving licence and willingness to travel across UK sites.

Security Clearance
This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
