Salary Ranges

  • Senior: £45k - £61k
  • Principal: £54k - £71k

Your Impact:

At Leonardo, we are excited to be recruiting for a highly skilled Electronics Engineer to work within a multi-disciplinary team for our Precision Guidance area. The role requires a broad and extensive electronic knowledge in the digital and analogue domains.

What you will do:

  • Development responsibilities may include requirements capture, schematic capture and PCB Layout (Dx Designer and Expedition – Siemens EDA), circuit simulation, driving the design review process whilst collaborating with other engineering functions and manufacturing.
  • You will also be responsible for devising and implementing all necessary design verification tests and supporting documentation required to allow your new designs to transition into production.

What you’ll bring

  • First or second degree (BSc, BEng, MEng, MSc, PhD, EngD) in Electronic Engineering (preferable) or related science (e.g. Physics) with some specialisation in electronic techniques.
  • Experience of PCB development tools and process (preferably Siemens EDA).
  • Knowledge or specialism in one or more of the following:
    • High Speed Digital circuit design including use of LVDS, JESD204 and/or Ethernet communications.
    • FPGA & Processor circuit design including use of DDR memory devices and supporting power and peripheral circuits.
    • Analogue circuit design of low noise signal conditioning circuits and use of ADC’s & DAC’s.
    • Power supply design including low noise, low power, compact design.
  • Experience of circuit simulation and PCB signal & power integrity analysis.
  • Experience of DFx (designing for cost, test and manufacturability).
  • Experience in System level and sub-system integration and Debug.
  • Knowledge of Matlab and Simulink would also be beneficial.
  • Design of engineering solutions taking into account all requirements such as product quality, safety, reliability and testability.
  • Present robust engineering solutions at design and peer reviews to ensure technical accuracy of specifications, designs and reports.
  • Undertake project tasks covered by a statement of work, detailing input, processes and output together with cost/timescale constraints to ensure delivery of project objectives.
  • Able to complete work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to mentor, coach and develop more junior members of the team in order to develop overall capability.

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
