As Project Risk Manager you will be required to engage, support and influence Programme and Project Managers and their Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to ensure the effective identification, evaluation and treatment of Project Risks. This will involve overseeing and being a subject matter expert in Leonardo's Project Risk Management Procedures and developing an effective Risk Culture. The role will be supporting the business to deliver capability to our customers. We are looking for Project Risk Managers with varying degrees of experience; we can provide training (on our processes and our tools) and development opportunities on a wide range of projects and programmes with verified levels of complexity and at differing stages of the product lifecycle. The roles can be based out of our Luton, Edinburgh and Basildon sites.
Key areas of Project Risk Management include (but not limited to):
- Support Risk Management on both Bid and Live Projects within the Business Area;
- Identify and Support appropriate Risk and Action Owners;
- Manage the Identification of risks (Threats and Opportunities), using Leonardo's Meta-Language;
- Manage the Evaluation of Risk Exposure (Probability and Cost, Schedule and Performance Impact);
- Advise on appropriate Treatment strategies for risks, in line with Leonardo's Risk Appetite Matrixes;
- Support development of Treatment action plans, ensuring they are time bound;
- Work with Planners to ensure treatment actions and contingencies are costed into the schedule;
- Analyse the post treatment residual risk value using Monte Carlo analysis;
- Manage progress of Treatment action plans;
- Support the contingency setting and management process, including compliant release of contingencies;
- Preparation of risk data for business area reviews and Corporate Reporting;
- Update and ensure the accuracy of the Risk Data within the Risk Register or System;
- Ensure the Project Classification is completed and maintained;
- Facilitate Monthly Risk Reviews;
- Support our Project Controls Function in delivery Schedule Risk Analysis reporting;
- Support ad hoc requests from customers and/or Central Risk Function.
Qualifications:
- Risk Management Experience within Projects and Programmes;
- Good organisational skills, demonstrated through ability to plan, prioritise and time manage;
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
- Highly numerate with experience of estimating (Cost & Schedule);
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to challenge and present at Management level;
- Skilled in negotiating and influencing techniques;
- Ability to lead workshops and present technical details to large teams of people with confidence;
- Motivational and creative individual with the ability to deliver high levels of business and personal performance;
- Pro‑active, dynamic individual with proven stakeholder management skills;
- High competency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word).

An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, which could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
