Your impact

Are you an experienced Project Manager with strong commercial awareness, ready to apply your expertise to a new role? If so, a Joint Modification Service (JMS) Project Manager could be your next opportunity. Reporting to the JMS Wildcat Platform Lead, you will take ownership of delivering key projects across the UK MoD Wildcat programmes. This role is responsible for managing all core JMS activities, product improvements, and safety modifications across both Wildcat variants. You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders—including internal teams, external partners, and the customer—to ensure that all modifications are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. This position is a JFF level 6.

What you will do as a JMS Project Manager:

  • Lead and manage the project team with responsibility and authority from the Programme Manager or Sponsor on a day to day basis.
  • Deliver the project to schedule, cost and quality.
  • Effective co‑ordination of the project and the interdependencies into the overall Programme or as an independent small project, including resolution or mitigation of any risks and issues arising during the project.
  • Supported by the Programme Management office.
  • Manage and produce the required deliverables proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action to achieve quality and schedule within budget.
  • Plan, design and monitor the project, preparing any project plans as required.
  • Identify and obtain support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project.
  • Manage the project's budget on behalf of the company, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the project progresses.
  • Manage Authorisations and Profitability in line with level of accountability.
  • Identify, capture and manage risks to the project, including the development of contingency plan, in accordance with LDOUK policy and process.
  • Liaise with the programme management (if part of a programme) and related projects to ensure alignment and integration.
  • Engage with IPTs, Customers and vendors in line with level of accountability.
  • Apply change control and configuration management processes.
  • Liaise with project assurance representatives to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project.
  • Conduct project reviews with internal and external stakeholders and highlighting actions/recommendations to appropriate business area, ensuring good communication links.
  • Report the progress of the projects at regular intervals to the appropriate level of management both internally and to the customer.

What you'll bring:

  • Engineering and/or Aerospace background with an understanding of the certification process.
  • Project management approach to the specific requirements of the project, including good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects.
  • Relevant experience with proven ability to manage several concurrent projects.
  • Knowledge of Change management principles and the company process for modification management.
  • Interpersonal and written communication skills, in order to influence personnel at many levels, internally and externally and able to work as part of an integrated team.
  • Additionally, be able to provide, obtain and record information in a concise and unambiguous manner.
  • Highly self‑motivated and able to work as a principle or part of an integrated team.
  • Ability to build long‑term relationships with internal and external customers/suppliers to maximise business effectiveness.
  • Ability to work to changing deadlines under pressure.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft applications including MS Project.
  • Understanding of the interdependencies of MAA, and contractual approvals.
