Your impact: Join the System Monitoring team as a Quality Engineer and help drive consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement across our helicopter programmes. Reporting to the Quality Manager (System Monitoring) – as a Quality Engineer you will have a key role in supporting senior management by managing the day to day internal and external audit activity. You will have a significant role to play in the performance monitoring of the business in ensuring an excellent standard of internal auditing and reporting is maintained. You will also have day to day responsibility for some QS specialist activities such as KPI reporting. You will be a key interface with 2nd and 3rd party auditors and regulatory/customer representatives and provide audit guides as necessary.
What you will do as a Quality Engineer:
- As an Auditor, responsible for carrying out complex and broad internal audits, in accordance with CPR.035.13 and CPR.061.14.
- Administer the non‑conformances (NC) Management system and become an expert user.
- Audit planning/preparation, audit conduct, report writing, report distribution.
- Perform risk analysis of any non‑conformances identified.
- Assure completion of audit non‑conformances and update the non‑conformance management system records.
- Assist in the resolution of potentially contentious issues between LH major stakeholders identified through audit non‑conformance, supporting a successful resolution of any issues, problems or challenges.
- Reconcile containment, corrective and preventive actions and accept/reject actions eventually leading to closure of the non‑conformance.
- Support KPI’s and other methods of reporting (e.g. trend analysis) to provide indicators to senior management of business performance.
- Support the close relationship with key points of contact in the MAA, CAA, and ENAC/EASA with regards to 3rd party audit and the timely close‑out of findings.
- Support the close relationship with customer key points of contact with regards to 2nd party audit and the timely close‑out of findings.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the entire business ensuring that in planning subsequent years audits the business is consulted for input.
- Assist and guide non‑conformance recipients in the use of the NC Management Tool.
- Representing the company during external (2nd and 3rd party) audits.
- Provide guides and guiding external representatives around the business to facilitate 2nd and 3rd party auditing.
- Liaise with 2nd and 3rd party bodies during the planning preparation and closure of external audits.
- Ensuring external audit reports and findings are loaded to the NC Management Tool and any findings/actions are completed within the agreed timescales.
- Take a proactive approach in personal development.
What you’ll bring:
- A sound engineering background with experience within an Aerospace or Manufacturing environment.
- Educated to HNC level or equivalent or served a recognised apprenticeship.
- Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams, building strong relationships to resolve quality issues.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with both internal and external customers.
- Experience of applying quality procedures and systems within an Aerospace environment.
- Computer literacy including competence in Microsoft office software, presentation packages and SAP.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the company Quality System.
- Knowledge and use of root cause analysis tools e.g. 5 why, Ishikawa, 8D etc.
- Trained error investigator.
- Trained internal quality auditor.
- Experienced SAP user.
