What you'll do as a Business Apprentice:
- Leonardo's two-year Business Apprenticeship scheme provides a variety of experiences through placements in business-related disciplines, working on real projects alongside specialists in the world of business.
- Placements you may cover include Project Management, Logistics/Material control, Manufacturing & Supply Chain, Project Planning, Commercial and Bid Management. The final position will be in Trade Compliance.
- During each placement, you will be working within cutting-edge facilities, learning how the various business areas operate and collaborate together to support projects, discovering how projects are run, managed and delivered, and having opportunities to liaise with customers and suppliers.
- There may also be opportunities for travel between the company's UK and international sites.
- You will also attend Fareham college to complete your Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship (ST0070).
- Through your work placements, you will record learning activities and evidence to show your competency in set criteria to build a portfolio for assessment including an individual project.
Year 1:
- Through a series of rotational placements across a range of internal departments, you will gather real work evidence such as reflective accounts which describe day-to-day tasks you have completed and highlight the key business competencies demonstrated.
- You will gather this evidence, which demonstrates your development into a well-rounded business person through on-the-job training, gaining the essential practical skills needed to succeed.
Year 2:
- Following completion of a number of placements, you will enter your final placement in Trade Compliance. This allows you to build on your skills and knowledge to develop into a valuable member of the Function and will provide you with the final pieces of evidence required to move into the assessment phase and complete your Apprenticeship.
What we need from you:
- You must have (as a minimum) the following qualifications: 2 x A Levels (A*- C) one of which must be English, Maths or a Business related subject, or equivalent qualification, plus 5 GCSE grades 4 - 9 or grades A*- C or equivalent, to include Maths and English.
Salary: £21,000
During your Apprenticeship, we encourage you to spend at least 3/4 days a week on site to integrate with your team and maximise your learning experience.
This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government's Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
