An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Risk Analyst to join the Risk Function Team and support the continued development and delivery of Leonardo’s Enterprise Risk Management framework across the Electronics Division. This role reports to the Enterprise Risk Manager and is based in Edinburgh, with consideration for Luton and Newcastle. Travel to other Leonardo UK sites and occasional travel to Italy may be required.

The successful candidate will work closely with Process and Risk Owners and functional teams to identify, assess and manage threats and opportunities across the business. Key duties include:

  • Facilitating risk discussions and workshops.
  • Maintaining risk information in the corporate risk management system.
  • Tracking and evidencing mitigation actions.
  • Delivering insightful risk reporting to support informed decision‑making.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and support risk workshops, interviews, and review activities.
  • Maintain and update risk information within the corporate risk management system.
  • Track mitigation actions and ensure evidence of completion.
  • Develop and deliver risk dashboards and reporting, including Power BI visualisations and predictive analytics using AI.
  • Perform quantitative risk analysis, including interpretation of Monte Carlo analysis and S‑Curves.
  • Communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels and promote a positive risk culture.

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of Risk Management frameworks and corporate governance principles.
  • Previous experience within Enterprise Risk Management, Project Risk, or a related governance environment.
  • Experience facilitating or supporting risk workshops, interviews, or risk review activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
  • Experience using Power BI and/or advanced Excel to develop dashboards; familiarity with SQL, Python or Talend is highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to collaborate confidently with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • High competency across Microsoft Office applications.
  • Right to work in the UK and willingness to travel occasionally to other Leonardo sites.
  • Eligibility for SC clearance (need 5 years continuous UK residency and ability to pass background checks).

Additional Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or a related STEM subject (or working towards such qualifications).
  • Experience within Aerospace, Defence, Engineering, Manufacturing or Technology sectors.
  • Experience working within a large, complex or highly regulated organisation.
  • Knowledge or experience of audit, assurance or compliance‑related processes.
  • Experience working with enterprise risk management systems or governance tools.
  • Exposure to Monte Carlo analysis, S‑Curves or quantitative risk analysis techniques.

Security Clearance

This role requires pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, including eligibility for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
