Do you have a basic understanding of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) processes? Are you looking to develop your career within the aerospace industry?

We are looking for an NDT Level 2 Operator to work within our Repair & Overhaul department at our Yeovil site. This is an excellent opportunity for you to hone your skills and to progress within a leading aerospace company.

We can provide you with comprehensive training in order to work towards your skilled level within the company.

The work pattern will be a day shift whilst completing training and then is set within a double-day weekly shift rotation (Early shift 06:00 - 14:00 / Late shift 14:00 - 22:00) and the role is based onsite.

Salary & Allowances

  • For experienced candidates already working at Level 2 NDT the salary would be £39,612.08
  • For candidates without Level 2 NDT qualification the salary would be £34,689.15, working towards the Level 2 NDT via a training plan.

For internal candidates please note this is JFF level 3 – Manufacturing

What you’ll do as an NDT Level 2 Operator

You will conduct NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) using specific techniques on aerospace products. You will understand the Company’s products, equipment setup and NDT operations, follow specific operating procedures, use safety specifications, interpret and evaluate test results.

Working in this role you will be responsible for the flaw detection on high value components covering:

  • Dye Penetrant Inspection
  • Ultrasonic Testing

In addition to these activities you will have the opportunity to work with the team on business improvement activities to further improve the department’s processes.

Once in post you will follow a detailed training programme to prove competence in a variety of key areas as well as passing specific examinations and tests. On successful completion of all of the training tasks set in the programme you will achieve the grade of Skilled 2 within Leonardo Helicopters.
