Leonardo is pushing the technical boundaries associated with advanced tactical sensing, data fusion, communications, machine learning and defensive aids systems, and we need you to play a fundamental role in the business’s transformation to enable the Digital Engineering Landscape.

Your Impact

Join us as a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Technical Leader within our Configuration Management Core business area and lead a team that will coordinate the integration of operational requirements from across the Leonardo Electronics engineering functions into the company PLM tool. You will operate as technical leader for Engineering operations activities and have responsibility for assuring the capability delivery against the stakeholder requirements. Within this role, you shall give clear direction to the project on the configuration and data management process and tools requirements to integrate software, modelling and hardware within the PDM system.

Responsibilities

  • Define and develop a comprehensive technical roadmap for configuration and date management tooling aligned with the Digital Engineering Strategy.
  • Ensure capability alignment across wider ongoing related initiatives across IT and Engineering.
  • Be accountable for the business acceptance of technical capability delivered against defined acceptance criteria (Incorporating customer, business, legislative and contractual requirements).
  • Provide technical leadership to resolve technical, project and programme conflicts.
  • Coordinate technical activities across all project work streams providing technical guidance to ensure cohesion across planned design, capability and enhancement work streams to meet business requirements.
  • Engage and influence business stakeholders to ensure that specific business requirements are correctly captured and agree acceptance criteria for developed solutions.
  • Assist in the establishment and development of the core PLM technical capability and capacity required to run an enterprise-wide service.

What you’ll bring

  • HNC, equivalent or higher in Engineering or Equivalent Discipline.
  • Experience in leading PLM transformation programs.
  • Hands on experience in deploying an industry standard PLM tool (e.g. Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, Dassault 3DXperience).
  • A good understanding of Configuration Management in accordance with DEF STAN 05-57.
  • Technical Team Management – ITSM operations experience would be valuable.
  • Full understanding of the PLM lifecycle and Tool definition to meet specific requirements.
  • Understand and capture end to end business requirements across multiple PLM domains.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment in order to meet project deadlines and constraints – time, cost, evolving requirements and acceptance criterion.
