Your Impact: The Typhoon Programme goes from strength to strength, with new aircraft orders committed and more in discussion. This means our team will need to keep Eurofighter Typhoon flying well into the 2050’s. As a result, we have a strong order book and have a hugely exciting new Project Manager opportunity. Working very closely with BAE Systems customer based in Warton Lancashire, you will lead a team of Electronic Warfare industry and technology experts based in the UK and in our partner organisations located in Germany, Italy and Spain in delivering a range of new and exciting development projects to keep Typhoon at the cutting edge of 4th generation Combat Air technology.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager, who has the technical project management skills to manage a complex programmatic and technological environment to successful delivery outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall delivery of the Project objectives, to business expectations.
- Establishment and nurturing of effective partnerships and relationships across the Project, Customers, Business areas/functions, Industry Partners and Suppliers.
- Leadership of the delivery of a multi-disciplinary, multi-location project, establishing clear success criteria/objectives for each member of an Integrated Project Team (IPT) and dependencies between team members.
- Lead project progress and performance reporting to the Programme Management team.
- Lead and effectively manage Project Risks and Opportunities.
- Promote an open culture of best practice and knowledge sharing within the Integrated Project Team (IPT) and wider business.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and the achievement of the Project's economic-financial objectives, ensuring maximum value creation throughout the entire lifecycle of the Project within the contractual constraints/commitments agreed with the Customer.

Professional Experience
- Experience in a similar level Project Management role or discipline.
- Project management experience in all phases of the project execution lifecycle, including Business Winning Phases, across several projects or programmes of medium complexity, involving both engineering and manufacturing.
- Demonstrable experience in all aspects of project planning, risk/opportunity management, scheduling, work package management, Earned Value Management and cost control.
- Experience of Primavera and/or MS Project and Agile Tools & Techniques.
- Demonstrable experience of managing multi-million pound Projects as the Project lead.
- Ability to influence, inspire and motivate project teams (direct/indirect management).
- Experience of developing and maintaining customer/supplier relationships.
- Experience or strong awareness of related functions such as Commercial, Contract Management, Procurement, Quality Assurance.
- Knowledge and experience in Product/Software development and qualification.

- Typically degree qualified in a business or engineering related discipline.
- Typically meets the requirements for registration as a full member of the Association for Project Managers (APM).
