We have an exciting opportunity for a Campaign & Marketing Manager to join our Combat Air Campaign team, supporting the world‐leading Praetorian Defensive Aid Sub‐Systems (DASS) for the Eurofighter Typhoon. This is a rapidly growing area of the business, offering an exciting opportunity to make a real impact. The role is located at our Luton site. We are open to discuss flexibility, part time working and what that means to you.

You will be responsible for Praetorian DASS sales campaigns and managing all marketing activities for the capability. You will have a good understanding of the UK and international defence and aerospace market and understand the critical importance of Electronic Warfare (EW) in coalition operations.

The role will include external engagement with customers, end users and industrial partners, requiring excellent communication skills and credibility when engaging with stakeholders to help shape and influence requirements. Internally, the role will require leadership qualities when dealing with internal stakeholders and Integrated Campaign Teams.

In addition, you will be required to present detailed prospects to Business Winning Reviews in order to secure pursuit, bid and resourcing approvals. You will also develop bespoke win strategies, write proposals for customers, and assist with the preparation of private venture investment cases to develop new capabilities. You must also be comfortable undertaking accurate and well‐informed market and competitor analysis. What matters most is your strong desire to understand and meet customer requirements and how you will demonstrate flexibility and agility to meet those customer needs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Secure order intake to meet forecast targets for current and future years by generating and managing a portfolio of key campaigns and opportunities.
  • Lead and/or support bid activities in collaboration with Integrated Campaign Teams and the wider company.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, end users and industrial partners.
  • Fulfil a critical coordination role, developing and maintaining relationships with key internal stakeholders including International Marketing, the Capability function, Sector IPTs and other functional areas.
  • Utilise internal company procedures to ensure that opportunities are identified, tracked and accurately reported to senior management.
  • Effective management and utilisation of the Leonardo Business Winning process to prosecute campaigns.
  • Track, report and forecast recurrent spares and repairs business.
  • Lead all marketing activities for Praetorian DASS.
  • Develop and implement a marketing plan, aligned with the 5-year sales forecast and provide a clear understanding of where marketing can influence customer perception.
  • Create a digital and traditional engagement plan, to include but not limited to trade shows, white papers, capability briefings, LinkedIn campaigns and thought leadership articles.
  • Overhaul and refresh Marketing materials and customer deliverables (presentations, briefings, models, data sheets, website).

What you’ll bring:

  • Relevant sector experience and commercial knowledge, particularly knowledge of the value of EW and Air platforms.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated. Able to set short and long-term planning goals in line with campaign and business needs.
  • Innovative thinker able to anticipate and overcome problems in a complex international sales environment.
  • Excellent communications skills, capable of confidently briefing to senior stakeholders across industry, government and the military.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills; able to work within and lead an ICT to successfully deliver quality output during high pressure bid and customer response activity.
  • Commercially and financially aware, preferably with experience of negotiating and closing complex deals in the international marketplace.
  • Output oriented with focus on achieving clear and ambitious goals.
  • Ideally would have significant experience in developing, managing and leading key sales or strategic campaigns within the defence or other comparable sectors.
  • Ideally, proficiency in one or more of the following languages: German, Italian or Spanish.
  • Knowledge of international trade compliance regulations and export control procedures.
  • Able to write compelling marketing content and proposals.
  • Occasional requirement to work to extremely tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to make frequent visits (including overnight stays) in both the UK and overseas.
