Your Impact

We have exciting opportunity within our Future Combat Air Line of Business for an Assistant Bid and Proposal Manager. This is a unique opportunity to work within our talented and supportive team in a dynamic growing business area. You will be responsible for owning and leading the Business Winning governance and administration activities within Future Combat Air with the opportunity to deliver bid elements of the programme and for emerging technologies through the wider Future Combat Air Systems (FCAS) portfolio.

We are looking for an ambitious individual who is self-motivated, passionate about shaping the future of our bid team and advancing our bidding capabilities so we can win better business for Leonardo Electronics UK.

What you will do as Assistant Bids and Proposals Manager:

  • Lead the Business Winning governance and administration activities within Future Combat Air

  • Responsible for planning, co-ordinating and facilitating Business Winning Reviews in line with business governance

  • Facilitate, lead and coordinate the monthly Business Winning Review of forecast data with senior management and multiple stakeholders

  • Manage the SAP prospect data for all new opportunities

  • Responsible for reporting performance to Business Unit including Sales Business Reporting for

  • Ensure robust data that feeds into Power BI dashboard reviewed by senior management

  • Working closely with Commercial and Finance to ensure total data accuracy and cohesion

  • Management of the Bid funding budget, working with bid managers to ensure the wider project team have enough funding to cover bid activity

  • Responsible for the accuracy of the capture plan tool working with the wider Campaign team to ensure we have consistent and high-quality data

  • Support the bid managers while independently leading on smaller bids (£100k-£10M)

  • Manage smaller bids from start to finish in accordance with the Business Winning and Lifecycle Management processes

  • Working with various functions and at time cross diviaional to ensure timely completion of high-quality compelling bids and proposals

  • Provide facilitation and organisational support to bid managers within the team

  • Become a central point of contact to the wider team for Business Winning and bid guidance

What you\’ll bring :
Required:
– Knowledge of Electronics UK Business Winning (BID-019) and commercial processes
– An interest in business winning with a desire to learn and develop into a future Bid Manager
– A proficiency in the use of SAP, Excel, SharePoint, Confluence and PowerPoint
– Experience of operating within a monthly reporting cycle
– Must demonstrate excellent attention to detail and understand the importance of accurate data for credible business reporting
– The ability to build strong relationships across the business, and develop knowledge of department’s interdependencies and use that knowledge to foster collaboration
– Demonstrates a positive and pro-active mindset with the initiative to drive progress independently
– Full Security Clearance

It would be nice if you had
– Experience working in a business winning or bidding environment
– Experience of SharePoint or Power BI
– APMP qualification

This role will be a mixture of home based and on-site working
Domestic travel will be required.
