At Leonardo, we’re looking for graduates who want to be part of something bigger—shaping innovation, advancing technology, and enhancing global safety.
We are committed to developing our graduates into leading technical or business professionals, and as such we will also support you through your preferred route for professional development.
Our 2 year Graduate Programmes give you the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects alongside subject matter experts.
On joining, you will receive a competitive starting salary, plus a £1,000 welcome bonus. You’ll also be eligible for a £1,000 exit bonus upon successful completion of the programme. In addition, you may be eligible for a Temporary Accommodation Allowance (TAA), subject to specific criteria.
We encourage you to spend at least four days each week on site to integrate with your team and maximise your learning experience.
We are currently looking for enthusiastic Aerospace Electrical and Avionics Engineering Graduates to join our core engineering function at Leonardo Helicopters.
During the programme, you will:
Start with an Induction into Leonardo, followed by team building activities. There will also be an Engineering specific induction to ensure that scheme requirements and expectations are fully established.
In conjunction with the Engineering Management Team and the Early Careers Team, you will have the opportunity to input into the design of your training scheme to include placements which give an insight into the complete Helicopter Product Life Cycle.
Rotate on a 3-6 month basis across the Engineering department with the opportunity to do an external placement elsewhere in the business, allowing you to build on your technical knowledge and also develop soft skills, through opportunities which a direct entry position may not be able to offer.
Working with world‑leading specialists, you will increase your technical skills and capability, and develop your academic and practical understanding of the diverse world that is manufacturing & supply chain.
As an Aerospace Electrical & Avionics Engineering Graduate, you will:
- Perform defined engineering design and analysis tasks, required for project, process and departmental purposes
- Develop and integrate engineering solutions from given broader design concepts and schemes
- Perform defined simulation, modelling, testing and assessment activities to ensure that the engineering solution meets customer requirements
- Assist with the creation of test plans and participate in sub system and system testing, using defined test procedures, to support the design, development and qualification process
- Produce standard engineering documents, reports and qualification statements within agreed formats for work undertaken
- Investigate assigned customer and product issues to produce a recommendation for their resolution
What you’ll bring:
Entry Requirements
- Minimum 2:1 Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering/Aerospace related subject
Security Clearance
This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) will apply, this would include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
