Leonardo UK is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Treasury Accountant to join its Corporate Treasury & Insurance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the day-to-day treasury operations of a leading global aerospace, defence, and security company. Working within a collaborative and fast-paced environment, you will contribute to the effective management of corporate cash, payment processing, reconciliations, and financial controls, while supporting wider treasury activities across the business. The role offers exposure to a broad range of treasury functions and would suit an individual with experience in finance, treasury, or banking who is looking to further develop their career within a dynamic organisation.

What You'll do as Treasury Accountant

  • Provide support regarding the day-to-day management of Leonardo UK Corporate Cash, including daily forecasting, and cash positioning/sweeping processes.
  • Work under own initiative to prepare the month end cash actual files and update Hyperion accordingly.
  • Verify & approve payments, liaising with initiators to ensure all payments are processed efficiently.
  • Support the resolution of complex bank account/cash book/trial balance issues.
  • Process/allocate cash entries via Piteco/SAP (receipts and payments), and manually via journal.
  • Reconcile relevant bank accounts and loan accounts as appropriate.
  • Provide support to the other members of the Leonardo UK Treasury team as appropriate and deputise in the event of leave and holidays.
  • Process cash accruals and prepayments.
  • Ensure adequate governance and controls are maintained, ensuring the correct application of accounting standards.
  • Assist in the coordination of the external financial audit, and internal audits when required.
  • Work closely with the Piteco consultant to ensure reporting is captured correctly.

Additional Treasury Support

  • Cash receipt allocation.
  • Bank account administration.
  • Inter-divisional loans.
  • Downloading of bank statements; upload/maintain transactional information within the Piteco TMS.

What you'll bring

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience using accounting software such as SAP and Treasury Management Systems.
  • Previous experience within a finance-related environment, including accountancy, treasury, or banking, or a recognised accounting or treasury qualification. Full training will be provided.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
  • Sound understanding of financial processes, controls, and accounting procedures.
  • A collaborative team player who can work effectively both independently and within a remote or hybrid working environment.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn and develop within the role.

Security Clearance

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government's Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, which could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
