Job Description:
Your impact
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI Systems Engineer with expertise in neural networks (CNNs or SNNs), machine learning algorithms, and Python programming. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing, deploying, and optimising machine learning models, with a strong focus on deep learning frameworks which can perform functions such as - but not limited to - detection, tracking and classification.
  • Advance infrared event driven sensing capabilities utilising spiking neural networks
  • Design, develop and optimise neural network architectures
  • Implement and test machine learning models using Python and libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Collaborate with teams of multidisciplinary engineers (e.g. hardware, firmware and software) to build scalable AI solutions which can be exploited in products including edge devices rather than cloud-based applications.
  • Use synthetic data generation tools to produce datasets suitable for training and testing algorithms.
  • Clean, preprocess, and analyse large datasets for model training and validation.
  • Continuously improve model accuracy, efficiency, and performance through experimentation and tuning.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and trends in AI, deep learning, and applied ML.
What you\'ll bring
Essential:
  • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in machine learning and neural network development.
  • Desire to work with Spiking Neural Networks and/or experience in Convolutional Neural Networks.
  • Proficient in Python and common ML libraries: TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, etc.
  • Understanding of supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning techniques.
  • Experience with data engineering tools and version control (e.g. Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
Desirable:
  • PhD in Machine Learning, Neuromorphic Computing, or a related field
  • Experience working in government, defence, or highly regulated industries with knowledge of relevant standards.
  • Experience in a variety of languages/modelling environments, such as C++, C#, Matlab, Simulink, CUDA, etc.
  • Experience in design and implementation of AI into hardware such as edge devices.
  • Confidence developing end-to-end solutions.
