The Workplace Specialist supports digital workplace services across an assigned hub, acting as a key support point for business escalations and onsite service delivery. The role provides hands‐on support and guidance for on‐premise tooling, software, infrastructure, and end‐user computing environments, including AV and specialist site‐based infrastructure such as rig machinery. Working closely with third‐party support teams, the postholder delivers a unified frontline service to the business and supports the onsite delivery of Digital Solutions (DS) operational projects. The role ensures that site‐based services are delivered consistently, governed effectively, and aligned with business requirements. The position is site‐based, with occasional travel across sites within the hub scope.

What you'll be doing

  • Support business escalations for digital workplace services across the assigned hub
  • Provide support for on‐premise tooling, software, and infrastructure, identifying gaps and recommending improvements
  • Offer guidance and best‐practice advice to the business on IT facilities, services, processes, and EUC usage
  • Support end‐user computing environments including AV and specialist site‐based infrastructure (e.g. rig machinery)
  • Work collaboratively with third‐party support teams to deliver a single, cohesive frontline service
  • Support the onsite delivery of DS operational and BAU projects to ensure business benefits are realised
  • Assess business requests and ensure they are correctly authorised, prioritised, and assigned
  • Approve the supply of end‐user computing facilities where authorised, appropriate, and justified
  • Ensure Joiner, Mover, Leaver (JML) processes are followed and managed for the assigned hub
  • Coordinate the supply of IT resources, including asset allocation and logistics
  • Manage local stock and logistics across hub and satellite sites
  • Support events, Sev0, and major incidents as required
  • Manage incidents and service requests related to infrastructure and services within hub scope
  • Provide support and guidance for new site‐ or hub‐based service demand
  • Support hub‐specific software maintenance, deployment, packaging, and support
  • Provide cross‐site support across all locations within hub scope
  • Support Hardware Asset Management (HAM) activities
  • Support BCP testing and exercises, including silver command participation
  • Support CE+ compliance activities related to the hub

What you'll bring

  • Experience supporting End User Computing (EUC) solutions, including AV technologies
  • Knowledge of on‐premise software, tooling, and infrastructure support
  • Ability to assess business requests and translate them into appropriate technical actions
  • Experience supporting frontline services such as tech bars, VIP support, and specialist tooling
  • Familiarity with IT service management processes and governance controls
  • Experience using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow (SNOW)
  • Ability to communicate technical guidance clearly to non‐technical users
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills for assets, logistics, and resource supply
  • Demonstrable experience supporting digital workplace or EUC environments
  • Experience working in site‐based or hub‐based IT service operations
  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification
  • CompTIA A+ certification
  • M365 Modern Desktop knowledge or certification
  • Experience supporting AV solutions and specialist site‐based infrastructure
  • Experience contributing to budget tracking, forecasting, and IBP inputs

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
