Are you ready to look beyond the spreadsheet? At Leonardo we are seeking a commercially minded, proactive Finance Business Partner to work within our Helicopter division at Yeovil.
Your impact
As a Finance Business Partner you’ll be a strong collaborator working with specific functions to provide financial advice, support and guidance in order to deliver current and future finance business objectives, through the provision of financial management information.
What you’ll do as Finance Business Partner:
- Provide advice and guidance on financial matters and queries raised by the function giving clear and concise data when needed in an efficient manner.
- Provide support on the financial budget and forecasts for functional operating costs and workload ensuring that the resources identified over the 5 year plan are appropriate and aligned to the function demand plan.
- Work with the Senior Finance Business Partner to ensure adequate governance and controls are maintained by the function, ensuring the correct application of International Accounting Standards, Leonardo Group Directives & LHD Finance Policies.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting of functional economic scorecards to the division giving explanations and variance analysis.
- Provide reports and present financial performance at functional monthly business reviews to help influence appropriate decision making.
- Prepare month end reports for functional operating costs and resources and intercompany revenue and margin within the P&L and Balance Sheet.
- Ensure SAP maintenance is supported in order to maintain month end integrity. Be the key point of contact for functional SAP issues and working closely with functions, finance teams and IT to coordinate resolution and/or raising change requests to support business transformation needs.
- Review invoicing of Intercompany work, working with functions to ensure issues resolved and pricing correct.
- Suggest improvements and support their delivery, continuously improving processes to deliver efficiencies and/or enhanced information, whilst keeping process documentation up-to-date.
What you’ll bring:
- Educated to degree standard with a formal accounting qualification (or studying towards).
- Good level of commercial awareness and the ability to liaise with project managers, commercial, engineering, manufacturing and supplier organisations as necessary.
- Ability to deal with complex financial modelling in a time pressured environment. Ability to manage or mitigate the potential risks & opportunities to achieve business success.
- Strong communication skills with ability to interact at all levels within the Company.
- Ability to understand supporting systems & processes and be able to generate continuous improvement in processes under their control.
- Good Excel skills (knowledge of SAP/BI/PBI beneficial but not essential).
