Job Description: Your Impact
We are seeking a Customs Compliance Administrator to work within iour Trade Compliance Function to support the activities of the Import/Export operations located at Leonardo UK's Yeovil facility.
As a Customs Compliance Administrator you will be responsible for the submission of Import/Export customs clearance instructions to brokers in accordance with UK customs regulations and company procedures to facilitate inbound customs declarations.
You will be required to be on site a minimum of three days a week at Yeovil.
What you will do
- Liaising with business to ensure correct and accurate clearance instructions can be issued to import agent/import broker
- Instructing freight agent/importer broker in accordance with business requirements
- Checking data to ensure import clearance information provided by import agent/broker to ensure Leonardo instructions have been followed
- Addressing any anomalies identified (with reference to Customs Compliance Operations Manager)
- Notifying business of import clearance conditions where applicable (customs special procedures or temporary admissions)
- Submission of export declarations to UK HMRC in accordance with UK regulations and company procedures
- Making direct customs entries where relevant or Issue instructions to Declarant's to ensure entries will be correct/accurate
- Checking customs entries following goods departure and address anomalies (with reference to Customs Compliance Operations Manager)
- Identifying corrective action when errors are noted (with reference to Customs Compliance Operations Manager)
- General administration support to the site Import/Export Control team which includes: Preparation of data packs relating to import and export transactions in readiness for internal and external audits, ensuring packs are recorded on company systems in accordance with company procedures
- Assisting with the preparation of reports for submission to UK authorities (such as Deferment reports, bills of discharge and export licence transparency reports)
- Assisting with processing and reconciling Freight Forwarder invoices (where applicable)

- We will need you to: Have good all round computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications
- Working knowledge of import/export and trade compliance matters
- Awareness of, and general familiarity with, SAP S4/HANA
