We’re renowned for engineering excellence and, just as importantly, for creating opportunities for our people to grow, develop and take on new challenges.If you’re adaptable, collaborative and confident in leading complex projects, and you’re ready to make an impact in an organisation at the forefront of aerospace and defence, we’d love to hear from you.For the awareness of internal applicants, this role is a level 6 on our Salary & Career Progression Framework.What you’ll do as a Project Manager:Be a proactive member of an Integrated Project Team (IPT), collaborating effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers to achieve successful outcomes that support and contribute to the overall objectives of the Programme.Manage projects and their interdependencies within large, high-complexity programmes or as standalone projects, overseeing delivery from initiation through to successful completion.Identify potential risks, issues and opportunities and develop mitigations plansMonitor project expenditure and budgets, providing accurate cost reporting and identifying opportunities to optimise costs and realise financial benefits throughout the project lifecycleDemonstrate effective communication and collaboration across functional business areas, fostering engagement and encouraging teamwork to achieve overall project objectives.Manage thedelivery of all required project deliverables, proactively monitoring progress, identifying and resolving issues, and implementing appropriate corrective actions to ensure quality, schedule, and budget requirements are achieved.Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, track progress against key milestones, and utilise data from multiple sources to provide accurate, timely, and insightful reports as requiredMonitor project expenditure and budgets, providing accurate cost reporting and identifying opportunities to optimise costs and realise financial benefits throughout the project lifecycleWhat you’ll bringProject/ Programme Management experience – ideally gained in a matrix organisationLeadership and team management skills to develop and maintain strong collaboration with both internal and external stakeholdersStrong communication and interpersonal skills to support engagement with all levels of the businessBudgeting and financial management capability to ensure delivery to costDemonstrated proficiency in Project Management tools and techniques.Negotiation and influencing skillsDrive and motivation in leading teams to strive for solutions in the face of adversityAn ability to problem solve and make timely decisions even in situations with ambiguous or incomplete information.Desirable SkillsKnowledge and practical understanding of SAP systemsAssociation for Project Management (APM) knowledge, with an understanding of project management principles, methodologies, governance, and best practicesExperience or understanding of project delivery within the Aerospace & Defence sector or a highly regulated environmentThis is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above.
