Salary: £76,000 - 94,000 per year
Requirements
- We have previous experience as a data or software engineer in a similar role.
- We have technical expertise in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, data warehouses, and leveraging data services.
- We are proficient in DataOps methodologies and tools, including experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, containerisation, and workflow orchestration.
- We are familiar with ETL/ELT frameworks and experienced with Big Data Processing Tools such as Spark, Airflow, and Hive.
- We have knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, and SQL.
- We have hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL database design.
- We have a degree in STEM or a similar field; a masters is a plus.
- We have a data engineering certification, such as IBM Certified Data Engineer, which is a plus.
- We can demonstrate equivalent capability through professional experience or alternative qualifications.
Responsibilities
- We orchestrate the ingestion, processing, and storage of raw data within structured and unstructured data repositories.
- We design, develop, deploy, and support data infrastructure, pipelines, and architecture.
- We implement reliable, scalable, and tested solutions to automate data ingestion.
- We develop systems to manage batch processing and real-time streaming of data.
- We evaluate business needs and objectives.
- We support implementation of data governance requirements.
- We facilitate pipelines that prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modelling.
- We work with domain teams to scale the processing of data.
- We identify opportunities for data acquisition.
- We combine raw information from different sources.
- We manage and maintain automated tools for data quality and reliability.
- We explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability.
- We collaborate with data scientists, IT, and architects on several projects.
